Thanksgiving is a Wonderful Time of the Year

Thanksgiving is a wonderful time of the year.
A time to thank God that we can live without fear.
Many only look at their problems and focus on them.
They forget how the Lord has blessed them, and when.

It is a time to be thankful for all our blessings today.
This day was proclaimed by Lincoln, and he went on to say
that we should always give thanks for living in this land.
This was a request by a great president, and not a demand.

Abraham Lincoln proclaimed Thanksgiving Day in 1863.
This was during the Civil War, our bloodiest war in our history.
It was a time when many could only focus on what they had lost.
Also, a time to regret the war, and what it had cost.

President Lincoln looked to God for His guidance and blessings.
It's the time when we should do this also, I am confessing.
Don't always look at the negative things, that will do you no good.
Instead, let's all thank God for His benefits, like we know we should.
