Today is the start of a brand new year.
We can, as Christians, have nothing to fear.
Although the world is deteriorating — this we know,
be joyful and glad, because we know where we will go.

This world is not our final home, you have heard this before.
Where we are going is Heaven, to live forevermore!
To experience joy unspeakable, that my words can’t express.
I am looking forward to this new life, I really must confess.

However, while we are still here on this earth
please serve Jesus for all that you are worth.
When we do stand in front of God someday,
that is when we will receive our Heavenly pay.

We will be rewarded, for all the good we performed here,
for all the unseen things, we did for others far and near.
Yes, God saw that sacrifice you undertook for another.
In Christ, thank God, we are all sisters and brothers!
