Ever Heard the Phrase “The Devil Made Me Do It"?

Ever heard the phrase “The devil made me do it”?
This was popular on TV years ago in a comedy skit.
The truth is, the devil can't make us do anything — it's true.
You and I are responsible for all that we say and do.

Another saying, “loose lips sink ships" describes words.
Words can destroy someone by telling others what we’ve heard.
I've been in churches where I have heard people gossip a lot.
Is this the way Christians should be? I think not.

We fight each other over inconsequential theological stuff.
Satan can use this to divide a church — yes that's enough.
We talk about the preacher, and the sermon that was too long.
Or, how a person dresses or acts, and they shouldn't belong.

Satan loves to use our lips to steal, destroy or kill another.
It's what we say that can destroy a Christian sister or brother.
So many have quit the church because of what was said.
Satan chalks that up as a victory and now that church is dead.
