Please give me your guidance and direction along the way.
Without your wisdom, guidance and favor, I'll surely fail.
You even know my thoughts, it's like you're reading my mail.
Still I do things without consulting you,
Even though I know God wants to be in agreement with what I do.
If I proceed with my action or plan without His direction,
I can expect things to go wrong. Yes, I have many a recollection.
In the Bible, David always consulted with the Lord before going to war.
The Lord would always give him a fresh and new insight, not like David did it before.
When David did this, as the Lord commanded, the result was always victory — it's true.
We sometimes think that we can do things that worked in the past — is that you?
Without the guidance of the Lord each and every day, we can expect failure and strife.
However, with His guidance and direction we can have a more fulfilled life.
In the Lord's Prayer we ask Him to give us our daily bread, not for a week.
That's because we need to desire daily direction from Him, for His will to seek.
