Today's Poem is About Taking Off the Mask

by Chaplain Anthony Murphy Site Admin

Today's poem is about taking off the mask.
For nearly all of us, that's a mighty task.

We want to look like we have it all together.

Some however, are experiencing stormy weather.

The mask hides who we really are, it's true.

We wear it most of the time, it's what we do.

We want to look good to those around us now.

We are professionals at what to say, do and how.

Yet, wearing a mask is only a deceptive device.

We want to appear legitimate, happy and nice.

But, behind the mask is our inner man, you see.

And, we know most are phony, I'm sure you'll agree.

The Lord knows us, and the mask holds back His blessings.

He wants us to be open and honest, and with sin — quit messing.

If we ask God to forgive our sins and take off our masks,

He will grant us more favor than we could ever ask!
